Ishinomaki Stool is specially designed by the furniture making workshop which also collaborated with Herman Miller. In 2011 tsunami, members of Ishinomaki Laboratory examined what was missing in the temporary housing area, and they found that a step stool or chair for wearing shoes in the entrance of houses was needed. This Ishinomaki Stool represents the compact outdoors concept of Ishinomaki Laboratory. The stool is made with red cedar.
